Saperavi

From the cradle of human winemaking in Georgia (near Russia), dating back over 8000 years - Saperavi translates to 'ink' or 'dye' due to the grape's red skin and unusual red flesh.

Planting one of the most ancient and unusual grape varieties, Saperavi, in the heart of Shiraz country, McLaren Vale, was an emotional decision, not rational. Over 20 successful years later, we are Australia's most prominent Saperavi producer and Hugh is the president of the
Australian Saperavi Association.
