Love this wine and love this winery! This drop is delicious and exceptional value. Whenever we have visitors and they want to check out McLaren Vale, Hugh’s is where we go. Tasting experience is always first class.

  2. Brooke Rand

This is one of the best value shiraz wines out there. It’s an amazing price for a great wine. A trusty go to when visiting friends or family for dinner.

I’m a huge fan of The Rascal. This Shiraz gives so much, in depth of aroma and boldness in flavour. Beautifully deep and rich in colour in the glass, this wine will pair perfectly with a nice of red meat or even the Sunday night roast meal. An incredibly consistent wine that will always leave your guests wanting more.

'The Rascal' Tasting Notes

Vintage 2017
Winemaker's Notes While we love and respect the notion of single-vineyard wines, ‘The Rascal’ benefits from being a blend of several sites.
Drink Now through 4 years
Bouquet Slurpy, plush, and lush – but assertive too. Packed with brambly dark fruit; blueberry, mulberry and black berry. Black tea leaves and vanilla. Violets and irises.
Palate Fleshy, sweet and meaty like a slab of steak. Chewy texture, rolling with fruit and oak, grounded with the subtle earthiness of fresh turned soil. Big and round in the middle with a satisfyingly long finish.
Food Match Marbled wagyu, roast beetroot, rocket, and fetta salad.
