Black as a house on a moonless night when the power goes out. Better light some candles and find an alternative source of warmth.
|Winemaker's Notes||Tinta Roriz – more commonly known here as Tempranillo – is considered by the Portuguese to be among the very finest varieties for the production of Port. Our Fortified takes this, drier, vintage style as our template for the Blackout. Brighter, more textural, and massively fruit driven - this isn’t anything like a common Tawny.|
|Drink||This is built to last; 1 – 20 years|
|Bouquet||A riot of plums, palm sugar, burnt orange, anise, rosewood, and fresh mint. Hugely lifted aromatically.|
|Palate||The palate is savoury, lengthy, and textural. Finishing crisply; coffee grounds and perfumed leather.|
|Food Match||Under the cover of darkness, pull out a platter of your favourite cheeses. Try an Italian blue or some Adelaide Hills camembert.|
