A great wine, I love the Black Blood range and I can never pick my favourite from the three wines. They’re just all too good!!

Vintage 2017
Winemaker's Notes Sourced entirely from Block 4 at our Black Sheep Vineyard the incredible lift of this wine is in part due to the deep sand in which these vines have thrived since 1935. These old, gnarly, and twisted grape trees look nothing at all like the pretty, delicate florals, in the wine they produce.
Drink Though entrancing now, there is detail here that will become clear with patience. 4-8 years.
Bouquet Violets, raspberries, leather, spice, and then more violets. Notes of ginger and blackcurrant, gravel and iron.
Palate The elegance of this wine separates it from the other two in the set more even than geography. Fine textured, poised, and intense, with further layers to emerge with maturity.
Food Match Five spice is this wines friend – try seared 5 Spice duck breast, or slow roast the whole.
