'180th Commemorative Magnum' Tasting Notes

Vintage 2016
Winemaker's Notes The ‘180th Commemorative Magnum’ hails from the vines which form the seemingly endless vineyard immediately to the south of our Cellar Door. The soil here is known as ‘Biscay Clay’, also referred to as ‘self-mulching black cracking clay’.
Drink Enjoy in 10-20 years.
Bouquet Dense like the black clay in which the vines grow. Intensely lifted notes of blackberries, dark cacao and black coffee.
Palate Structured for length, the palate is assertive but not overbearing. The fine aromatics are consolidated on the palate.
Food Match This wine is no lightweight, so pair it with bold dishes. We suggest a char grilled rib-eye with red wine jus.
